Okay, we'd like to think that Drug Wars - Underworld is the only software you're going to install on your computer, but you probably need more than just a game...

We don't run across 'must have' programs very often. When we do, we generally like to mention them (as we hope that people who like our software will mention it to everyone they know :).

So, we decided to pick one program that we really like here at Geek Phase, and mention it on our site. Call it good karma. Call it CompuPic.

We 'borrowed' this graphic from their website...sorry. Don't sue us. Ten Things We Like About CompuPic Fast. Really fast. Looks good. What's up with ugly programs? We liked the look so much, you can probably see the look reflected in our software. Small. The download is about 2 MB, compared with other similar programs at 10+. Pictures look better. This one is hard to describe, but photos just seem to look better...less blocky in CompuPic. 'Instant Zoom' Click the middle mouse button when viewing a picture and you'll see what we mean. Does everything. This one program replaced about 10 other apps we had installed. Slideshows == Good. We didn't really use slide shows much before we got CompuPic, but now we use them a lot more. These are probably the best slide shows and transitions around. Supports any file. CompuPic must read like a billion different file types. There are probably some obscure ones it doesn't read, but it seems to handle just about any image or picture. Customizable. We like options. You can change almost anything about CompuPic to make it work just the way you want. Cheap. We got it for $40 online. We expected to use it occassionally, but found it is one of the most-used programs on our computers. Works out to be REALLY cheap when you divide the cost by how much we use it!

What is CompuPic? CompuPic is a lot more than meets the eye. We originally started using it because we needed a program to view pictures. It does a lot more than that. What Does it Do? Using CompuPic, you can visually browse the files on your computer (REALLY REALLY FAST). You can view pictures and graphics in almost any format. You can zoom (there's an amazing one-click instant zoom function), pan, etc. There's basic image editing (crop, rotate, color correct, etc. - saves the few minutes waiting for Photoshop to open). There are TONS of other features, like incredible slideshows (the best transitions we've ever seen), web page creation, batch conversion and more. Why We Like It Maybe you've already got something like this...Windows XP, Acdsee, whatever. Well, in our experience, nothing is as fast and full of features as CompuPic. Every time we think of something we need to do with an image, it turns out that CompuPic can do it.
